For this opera a city backdrop was created using material know as twin wall was used.
Power tools were used to cut out the city scape after the reference image had be scaled and transferred to the twin wall sheet.
Different shades of black paint were applied to create the city, this was then back lit on stage.
A trick window and frame was also made from wood and clear plastic sheet cut into the shape of broken glass and the carefully pieced back together. it was then painted and aged to match the rest of the scenery. The window was "broken" on stage to mimic a gun shot breaking it.
